UCSF Medical Center is recognized throughout the world for innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research. We are one of the nation's top five hospitals, according to an annual survey by U.S. News & World Report. For more than a century, we have offered the highest quality medical treatment.
Today, our expertise covers virtually all specialties, from cancer to women's health. In addition, the compassionate care provided by our doctors, nurses and other staff is a key to our success. We receive countless letters of gratitude from patients and their families, a true measure of the valuable and caring service we provide.
Every year, more than 1 million patients visit our clinics and about 46,000 patients are admitted to our hospitals. Approximately 3,000 babies are born at UCSF annually.
We have more than 12,000 employees and dozens of locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as outreach clinics throughout Northern California and beyond.
Our main facilities are located at the Parnassus, Mount Zion and Mission Bay campuses. (See locations and directions.)
